  • Minorities. I feel like most people here are americans/europeans, which kind of makes a bubble.

      • Heh, there's already tons of US defaultism here anyway ;) Anyways, i don't really think EU-defaultism is too much better.

        It also makes me very uncomfortable seeing people on lemmy support countries and politicians that are literally funding multiple genocides of arabs, and exploiting the third world for profit. I always loved r/arabs and other minority communities as a balance of sanity for that.

        Lemmy's supposed to be an international community, but i feel very second-class here :p

        • As of this moment, is there any Arab community that people can join? I remember the existing one having debatable moderation

          • I mod !arabs@lemmy.dbzer0.com. Though ironically, when i make posts in arabic there i get downvoted 🥲 There's more westerners (thinking that it's a community for news, not for arabs) than actual arabs there.
