I thought it would be neat to have one just for the furry and animal related content of 196, it also helps with resiliency as @skulblaka@sh.itjust.works and @Klear@sh.itjust.works have pointed out.
Asside from that I think the others out there are a result of Lemmy existing before lemmy.blahaj.zone did, and an attempt for 196 to exist as its own instance 196club.
