Spoons and BD have been on my "do not drink at" list for a while.
This underlines the BD one for me.Wait, what's wrong with spoons, besides the obvious?
I think they might be referring to the owners politics, specifically his very strong Leave campaign during the EU referendum. Could be wrong though.
IIRC, the owner chose to support brexit because it might mean the UK implemented minimum alcohol pricing sooner, which might have increased his trade when the gap between supermarket and pub drinking got smaller.
It really rubbed me the wrong way that was his reason.
What do you mean besides the obvious
Well spoons isn't exactly known for its fine dining. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place to go for a few cheap pints, but it really shouldn't be anyone's favorite.
