We might be living the final moments of not being terrified what the US President is going to do
These might be the good old days. Go outside, feel the grass, say wassup to your neighbors,... whatever you do that means community, because sh*t might get bad for a while.
Well, he probably could initiate anything he wanted on the grounds that they said that any official act is immune. He could probably get away with quite a bit before they managed to get together and stop him saying it wasn't an official act.
Yes, and they get to decide what an "official" act is. But it's moot. Biden doesn't have the stones to do what it takes to save the US from fascism. Not even close.
Yeah, it's like, "You obviously know that he is a clear and present danger this time around, shouldn't you do something about it? Tradition and democracy are going to be cast aside if he comes to power, why wait for that to happen for the worse?" Biden needs to Seal Team Six Trump/Vance before they ever come close to taking power, consequences be damned, at least that would force the Supreme Court to step in and say that, No, the President can't have political opponents assassinated, it would still be a constructive ruling for democracy.
The first time Trump got elected, they could maybe have been forgiven. It was bad then, but I think people assumed that he would somehow "fall in line" or just take a back seat while the adults ran the show or mature or whatever, but I think it's pretty clear that it's going to be a total shitshow this time around.
The first time he was elected, it was still inexcusable to vote for a known racist, rapist asshole, but nobody thought he'd actually make a serious effort to destroy democracy. It's been a well-known fact ever since.
