Israeli air strikes target densely populated residential complex in northern Gaza town, killing and wounding scores
An Israeli attack on Beit Lahiya, a town in northern Gaza, killed at least 73 Palestinians on Saturday evening, according to the enclave's government media office.
More than 100 others were wounded and several people missing.
Israeli air strikes targeted a multi-floor building and damaged a number of nearby houses, medics in the Gaza Strip reported.
The government media office said that Israeli forces had bombed overcrowded residential areas in Beit Lahiya, adding that women and children were amongst the casualties.
It's hard for me to even track when it's an article with more details about a previous massacre versus a report of a new massacre. Israel attacks civilians with such frequency that there's a new slaughter even as the previous one is just being fully reported.
Part of the problem is that the images suck. Honestly. Here we see a bunch of body bags, we know literally nothing about who's in them. But on Oct. 7 there were lots of images and video of what happened, with people's faces visible.
The most effective thing that could be done to support Palestinians, infinitely more effective than spray painting neighborhoods and camping in public spaces, would be to give them cameras and a means of releasing video. As long as it's just numbers, no one will care.
The thing is. There's been loads of first hand evidence about the victims. You know the person who got burned in the hospital with IVs still attached to his hand? His name is Shaban al-Dalou. He's a 19 year old aspiring software engineer who never got to finish his studies and work as an engineer because he was murdered.
There's a lot of stories like this, if you just want to look. The western media fucking surpresses this stories because they don't want us to humanize the Palestinians.
